HR Expertise at Big Loud
Big Loud, a small artist development management company without any HR presence, wanted to make sure they met basic compliance requirements. On an hourly rate agreement, Paramount Potentials provided DOL policy recommendations, policy handbook, job descriptions, corrective action, sexual harassment, and performance appraisal documents and processes.
The Problem
Not quite big enough for a full-time HR entity, this artist development management company in Nashville, TN with around 50 employees needed the basic Human Resource policies and procedures put in place to ensure they were not only compliant with labor laws. They also wanted to provide role clarity and foster a great place to work. Not ready to employ a full-time HR Generalist, they requested our services.
The Plan
After a simple one-hour HR Audit interview, we suggested the following in priority order:
- DOL, EEOC mandated posters displayed in the lunchroom
- Employee handbook
- Harassment policy and training,
- Job descriptions
- Corrective action form
- Performance Appraisal form
- Management training of policies and processes
The Solution
Upon approval of the audit, our consultant started by immediately sending the Office Manager all of the required posters that needed to be posted. Next, an employee handbook and harassment policy draft was provided for the client to further gather input and bring to their liking. Third, a corrective action form was developed. Then, job descriptions were written followed by the development of an employee and a manager performance review form and process.
Harassment training followed for all employees and managers attended a training to support the forms and processes listed above.
The Result
Big Loud is a very recent delivery, so we have not evaluated the results at this time. Stay tuned.
